Wärtsilä Energy Storage has announced plans to develop what it claims will be the largest DC-coupled hybrid battery energy storage system (BESS) in Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM). While specific project details have not yet been disclosed, Wärtsilä confirmed that the order will be recorded in Q4 2025.
